Fulbourn residents encouraged to participate in village's Neighbourhood Plan consultation

Councillors at South Cambridgeshire District Council would like to encourage the residents of Fulbourn to have their say over the draft Fulbourn Neighbourhood Plan which is currently out for consultation. The deadline for comments is 18 January 2022.

The Neighbourhood Plan sets out a clear vision of how the local community would like to see Fulbourn in ten years’ time, and a range of policies within it to achieve this vision. Their vision statement says:

“In the period to 2021 Fulbourn village will continue to be a vibrant, sustainable and thriving local community with its own distinctive characteristics, separate from Cambridge yet complementary and benefiting from its proximity. It will have a locally distinctive built and natural environment and a wide provision of local services strongly supported by the local community.

“New development will ensure the ongoing success of Fulbourn providing suitable housing, employment, leisure facilities and local services whilst protecting and enhancing its natural and built assets for future generations.”

After the end of the consultation on 18 January 2022 the plan and all the comments received during this consultation will be submitted to an independent examiner.  If successful at examination, there will be an opportunity for the residents of Fulbourn to vote in a referendum as to whether the plan should be used to determine planning applications within the parish.
