Steven joined the Greater Cambridge Shared Planning Service in May 2019 as the operations manager. Prior to this, most of his career has been spent in various finance roles within the Civil Service. In recent years, these involved working closely with: change programmes, operations directors, and corporate services to support service redesign, digitalisation of services and increasing use of automation.

As operations manager, Steven oversees the business management activities of the service, this includes:

  • Workforce – recruitment, retention and staff development
  • Finance – financial planning, budgeting, forecasting and financial control
  • Engagement and Marketing – communications activity with customers, councillors, agents and other partners
  • Performance management – reporting, analysis and improvement activity
  • Executive support to the Director and Senior Management Team and the wider service
  • Customer correspondence and insight

Steven is a qualified accountant with nearly twenty years’ experience gained from a variety of roles in the public sector ranging from customer service through to corporate management.
