Heather Jones

Deputy Director Planning and Building Quality 

Heather joined Cambridge City Council in 2017 and has extensive experience in leading shared services, particularly through transformation and change. Areas of expertise include: building control, street naming and numbering, planning, land charges, housing and other consultancy services. Heather is a non-executive Director of the Board of LABC (Local Authority Building Control) and was elected as President in December 2021.

Heather has worked in local government across England and Wales, and has previously been a member BRACW, a Welsh Government Advisory Committee for a period of four years. Current roles include member of the CIC (Construction Industry Council) Diversity and Inclusion Panel and the CDBB (Centre for Digital Built Britain) Local Authority Digital Working Group. Interests include the social value of early strategic interventions in the built environment.
