Planning Policy Strategy and Economy
With other 30 years experience in planning policy, Caroline gained a range of experiences in a number of district councils in Sussex and Kent before making the move to South Cambridgeshire.
Caroline views the Greater Cambridge area to be a highly interesting area for a policy planner, and has enjoyed many challenges over the years working in the area. Whilst developing her career here, Caroline has worked on several Local Plans over the years and led the preparation of several Area Action Plans for strategic scale developments on the edge of Cambridge and new settlements in South Cambridgeshire, many of which are now being built as successful new communities for the 21st century.
After a number of years as Planning Policy Manager, first for South Cambridgeshire and then for Greater Cambridge, and seeing the 2018 Local Plans through to adoption, Caroline took on the role of Strategy and Economy Manager in 2019.
Caroline's focus is now on planning policy and economic issues at a more strategic level, both for the new Greater Cambridge Local Plan, and also at a wider scale for areas such as the Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Combined Authority and the OxCam Arc. As well as engaging with a range of partners on their development of key strategic transport projects that could make a real difference to the lives of those living and working in the area.
